Last week’s photo showed a portion of the new Acura ILX, the Honda division’s small sedan. For a better photo and information, read this week’s road test.
The ILX seems to have stumped our readers. There were plenty of other guesses, including the Honda Accord, the Cherolet Cruze and the Mazda3.
Chosen randomly from the correct entries was the name of Wayne Wilke, of Evans, who wrote:
“The ILX is Acura’s entry-level car and it is based on the Honda Civic platform, but its suspension, tuning, interior materials and styling are different.
“That is a good thing since the leading consumer magazine, in the September issue, just panned the Civic in a ‘Five Popular Cars to Avoid’ article where they mentioned the 2012 Civic ‘suffers from a choppy ride, noisy cabin, vague steering and mediocre interior quality.’
“Expect the ILX to be a lot better.”
Wilke wins a prize from The Augusta Chronicle. Others identifying the car were:
AUGUSTA: Carolyn Ogles called the ILX a “premium small car with impressive standard items.” She added that it is built in Greensburg, Ind.
CUMMING, GA.: Chris Rhodes
EVANS: Jerry Paul
MARTINEZ: Jeff Miller and Jim Muraski
