The North American International Auto Show wound up after lots of new models in Detroit, but other areas also focused on cars this month. They included NASCAR, Monte Carlo, racing karts and monster trucks.

Daniel Sordo and his co-driver, Carlos del Barrio, of Spain, steered their Mini Cooper WRC past fans Saturday in the 15th stage of the 80th Rally Monte Carlo. The team ended the final day of the rally in second place in Luceram, in southeastern France. The rally was won by French team Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Elena in a Citroen.

The car sports the lines of the sleek 2013 Fusion sedan, which was awarded "Best in Show" at this month's Detroit Auto Show and will go on sale later in the year.
