St. Luke Anglican Catholic Church gets new priest

St. Luke Anglican Catholic Church has announced the call of a Priest-in-Charge.

Fr. Daniel Stephen Trout grew up in the Philadelphia area. In 2003, he earned bachelor’s degrees in history and theology at Clearwater Christian College, and began studying at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Fla.

After graduating in 2007, he prepared to receive holy orders in the Anglican Province of America (APA), where he also met his future wife, Anita. In 2009, he became “Fr. Trout,” and served in several Florida parishes of the APA, including duties as vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Sarasota.

In 2016, he was received by Archbishop Mark Haverland into the Anglican Catholic Church, Diocese of the South. Fr. Trout began officiating at St. Luke as a visiting clergyman in October, and in January accepted the appointment to be the new Priest-in-Charge of the parish.

Fr. Trout and Anita have enjoyed nearly nine joyful years of marriage. He looks forward to pastoring his flock and ministering to the Augusta community through outreach and cultural engagement.

St. Luke is located at 3081 Wheeler Road in Augusta. We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and the Hymnal 1940. All are welcome.
