The annual Sacred Heart Garden Festival kicks off Friday morning with Ted Stephens of Nurseries Caroliniana speaking at 9:30 a.m. about landscaping with members of the lily family.
One-day tickets for $10 are available, and three-day tickets, which include the tour of gardens, are $30. The festival features flora and landscape displays, speakers, and a terrific lineup of vendors. The festival continues through Sunday.
Other speakers are:
10:30 a.m.: Vera Stewart, executive producer and host of The Very Vera Show, will speak on “Cooking with Herbs”
11:30 a.m.: Mary Louise Hagler, master gardener and published garden writer and blogger, will speak on “Grow, Gather and Style”
9:30 a.m.: Erica Glasener, writer and host of TV and radio, will speak on “A Four Season Garden - more than just flowers”
11 a.m.: Allan Armitage, renowned horticulturalist, speaker and writer, will speak on “Common Sense Gardening, This is gardening, not brain surgery”
12:30 p.m.: Armitage will lead a walk about the festival to discuss plants available in vendor booths
