Shopgirl: Vevo makes finding music videos easier

Bring back the days of MTV when the first time you experienced a song was through the music video – Vevo just released a major rebuild of their mobile app so that you will never have to search for the official music video for a song ever again. The new app includes social features that allow you to develop a profile, and share videos with your friends through the app.

WHAT’S TRENDY: Uniqlo has always been a brand with an international flavor and an aesthetic that is not afraid to make some waves. I think their latest designer collaboration sets an uplifting tone for fashion, working with U.K. designer Hana Tajima on a line that features hijab designs and “modest fashion” pieces.

Tajima is British-Japanese and Muslim, and her styles reflect the modesty that she observes through her religion.

I think the inclusivity of this line is heartening, and hopefully it will open accessible fashion up to women of all walks of life.

The pieces in the Hana Tajima + Uniqlo line would look great in anyone’s closet, and they have a very flowy, airy aesthetic that will transition well into fall. Find the entire line at uniqlo.com.

WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: Save the date for the first Food Truck Festival in Augusta, planned for Sept. 24. Not only does this event go toward a great cause (Golden Harvest Food Bank), but the event organizer also is hoping it will get people thinking about food trucks and where Augusta would best be served with a space designed for food trucks to set up and offer their wares.

The event will start at noon and take place behind the Columbia County Library. You can find out more information and buy tickets at csrafoodtruckfest.com.
