Stores release Black Friday deals early

The busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, is only days away, so if you plan to tackle the traffic, crowds and weather, it’s important to start scouting the best deals. Here are some Black Friday deals that retailers have already released:

OFFICE DEPOT: These offers are available while supplies last. No rainchecks are available. There is a limit of one per household or business. Also, there will be a minimum of four per store.

BIG LOTS: Special sales Thursday to Saturday. Shoppers spending $50 or more Thursday through Sat­ur­day will receive a $10 coupon to be used for their next purchase at Big Lots. The store’s Black Friday ad will be available at www.biglots.com on Monday, according to a release.

Save on fuel

Quadruple Fuel Rewards at Kroger: Through Dec. 11, Kroger is offering quadruple fuel reward points for all gift card purchases.

The points can be redeemed for discounts of up to $1 per gallon at Kroger fuel centers or 10 cents per gallon at participating Shell stations.

For example, for every $50 gift card, Kroger customers will receive 200 fuel reward points that can be redeemed for 20 cents off per gallon at a Kroger fuel center or 10 cents off per gallon at participating Shell stations.

Points can be redeemed for discounts of up to $1 per gallon at Kroger fuel centers, according to a release.

Free frostys

Free Junior Frosty Treats: Through Jan. 31, Wendy's customers can purchase a Frosty key tag for $1 at participating restaurants. If they show the key tag during follow-up visits through Nov. 15, 2012, they will receive a free Junior Frosty treat.

A purchase is required in order to use the tag. Visitors may only receive one free Junior Frosty per key tag per visit.

Proceeds from the sale of each tag will benefit the Georgia Health Sciences Children’s Medical Center.

Save with recycling

Refrigerator Recycling Program: Georgia Power has an EarthCents Refriger­ator Recycling Program to help customers save money and energy. Customers can contact Georgia Power to schedule a free pickup of their working secondary refrigerator or freezer, and they will get $35. To schedule a free, in-home pickup or find out if you qualify, call (866) 446-9250 or visit georgiapower.com/refrigerator.

Refrigerators manufactured before 1993 use 75 percent more energy than newer models and can cost owners as much as $150 a year in higher energy costs, according to a release.
