Church art show, sale


St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 3551 Wheeler Road, will have an art show and sale from 1 to 5 p.m. today. The show features local artists, some from the congregation. A portion of the proceeds will support the church's outreach ministries. Call (706) 736-4575 to learn more.

Pick'n and Praise'n

Singers and songwriters will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the monthly gathering of Pick'n and Praise'n at Bayvale Baptist Church in Augusta. The sessions are free. Donations help pay for the facility, at 2240 Bayvale Road. Call (706) 373-7855 for more.

Church's fall festival

Heights Church will hold its fall festival from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Midland Valley Recreation Area in Clearwater. The free event includes food, games, prizes, face painting and inflatables. Call (803) 593-3054 for more.

New church in Aiken

The Journey Church of Aiken launches with a service at 10 a.m. Oct. 31.

The church will meet at 710 University Parkway, Aiken. The services will be casual, and begin with a sermon series, Real, on how Christ and the Bible are relevant to issues in daily life.

Free computer class

Additional sessions on PowerPoint were added to the Computers @ First lineup to meet demand for the free classes offered by First Baptist Church of Augusta.

Classes include tips and techniques for making presentations complete with text, music and digital images. The three-class series runs from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 1, 8 and 15.
