Subdivision of the Week: Cedar Creek

An advertisement told Tony and Rita Loesch all they needed to know.

It was in Links Magazine that they first saw Cedar Creek, a planned community off Banks Mill Road between New Ellenton and Aiken.

"It was so beautiful and green," Mrs. Loesch said.

The retirees moved to Cedar Creek six years ago from Indiana.

The master bedroom leads to the deck, which faces the 13th green of the neighborhood's semiprivate golf course.

Five miles of walking trails are woven through the neighborhood and around the course.

"It's such a peaceful place to be," Mrs. Loesch said.

The home is a retreat, Mr. Loesch said. It has 10-foot ceilings and an airy floor plan that unites the entrance, dining room, kitchen and living room.

"We like to entertain," he said. "In the end, it's really about the people. They're what keep you here."

Floor-to-ceiling windows mean that all those rooms look out to the deck.

"We came from a house where you had to have all the lights on no matter what," Mr. Loesch said. "We don't have that problem here."
