What is it?

If you stepped back a few paces and looked at last week's close-up photograph of headlights, you would see that they belong to the revamped 2008 Toyota Highlander.

Ken Ziegler, of Evans, was the first reader to identify the sport utility vehicle, and he wins a gift from The Augusta Chronicle.

Other correct readers were Christopher Martin, of Augusta; Dennis Glore, of North Augusta; and Justin Scearce, of Clarks Hill, S.C.

We received many wrong guesses: the Suzuki XL7, Nissan Maxima and Sentra, Toyota Avalon and Tacoma, Honda Accord and a Lexus. Cars all look alike today anyway, right?

When you look at the second photo, you might think you know what these vehicles are right away. But are they what you think they are, or are they perhaps something else? Or am I just trying to play with your mind? I wonder.

If you think you can identify this week's What Is It? photo, write to glynn.moore@augustachronicle.com or call (706) 823-3419 and leave a message.

If calling, tell us how to spell your name and include your city and telephone number. The deadline is noon Wednesday.

The names of all the correct guessers will be published in next Friday's Autos section, and the first to correctly identify What Is It? will receive a little gift from The Chronicle.
