DRIVE, (8 TONIGHT AND MONDAY, WFXG, CHANNEL 54): The new Fox action drama is a high-velocity cross-country road race fueled by lots of questions and life-or-death stakes. Its numerous competitors have many reasons for taking part, but this is no Sunday drive for any of them.

Alex (Nathan Fillion) is trying to find his missing wife. New mother Wendy (Melanie Lynskey) is on the run from her abusive husband. John (Dylan Baker) is a nerdy scientist who views the race as his last chance to win back the respect of his rebellious 15-year-old daughter Violet (Emma Stone).

Although the race's liaison, Mr. Bright (Charles Martin Smith), has informed them there are many other competitors, the group's members don't know who they're racing against, where the finish line is, or why the race is even happening.

CELEBRATING TODAY: Country singer Roy Clark, 74; actress Emma Thompson, 48; singer Samantha Fox, 41; guitarist Ed O'Brien of Radiohead, 39; and actress Emma Watson, (Harry Potter movies), 17.
