Shopgirl: Film archive service offers classic films and TV

Are you one of those people who watches more black and white movies than color, and can list off every movie featuring Lauren Bacall?


You should check out Warner Bros. Archive Instant service, a Netflix-like service specializing in rare classic movies. You get a two-week trial, and the subscription is $9.99 per month after that.

As a subscriber, you can access the movies through your iPad or Roku, or of course your Web browser.

Movies including Harper and Reflections in a Golden Eye, and television shows including 77 Sunset Strip and The Adventures of Superman rotate through a changing selection of pieces – you can see all of them at



Oh, how I love Target’s designer collaborations. From Prabal Gurung to Missoni, the big red bullseye has brought me some of my favorite (and most affordable!) wardrobe pieces. 

The newest pairing will be Target + Peter Pilotto, a designer known for his punchy prints and flattering cuts.

Pieces range from $14.99 to $79.99, with most for less than $60. The lookbook has a lot of separates, accessories and some of the most fab swimwear I’ve seen for Summer 2014.

It’s Symphony season, and you should make plans now to attend Symphony Orchestra Augusta’s Composer Festival.

This year, it will feature the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with events for children, lectures, master classes, art collaborations and beautiful music. Actor Tim Marrone will even make an appearance as the great Mozart himself!
