Shopgirl: Music from Twitter, bathing suit deals and the downtown loft tour

It feels like all social media outlets are getting in the business of being all things to all people.

Twitter’s video app Vine has taken off, and just last week Twitter #Music was launched – Twitter’s new stand-alone music service. It’s available via mobile app and a Web service.

You can check out popular artists, emerging talent, and songs your Twitter followers have tweeted about. Select a track to hear a snippet, and then connect the app to Rdio or Spotify to hear the whole song.

The app will be a home for music news and info, and of course makes it easier to follow your favorite musicians.

It’s so easy to drop several hundred dollars on swimsuits, but it doesn’t have to be that way., Old Navy and Target actually have a great selection of pool looks for less than $50.

ASOS has a lot of pieces that are basic and mixable, and Old Navy has classics and great prints. Old Navy is really good about running specials where all of its pieces are $10, too.

Target’s prices are good, too, and they have really great colors this season and Sara Blakely’s Assets line (with Spanx help!). Keep an eye out around Memorial Day and July Fourth for good sales all around.

It’s been all the rage to rehab old buildings into living spaces, and Augusta has done a great job stewarding beautiful landmarks into lofts and businesses.

The Historic Augusta ninth annual Downtown Loft Tour is going on Friday and Saturday, and it’s a chance to see some of the more unique living options around town.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. You can get tickets by calling (706) 724-0436 or at Eros Bistro, First Bank of Georgia, The Indian Queen, Mellow Mushroom, New Moon Café or at Historic Augusta.
