Kroger at 2801 Washington Road has a discount section called Barney’s Bargains, which has grocery and general merchandise items up to 75 percent off, said store manager Christian Brander.
“There’s fantastic savings in there. Stuff doesn’t stay in there very long,” Brander said.
Shoppers can find spices, kitchen utensils, holiday decorations, hair products, candy, candles, holiday cards and more. The items might either be overstocked, discontinued or slightly blemished, such as a can with a small dent, Brander said.
Sunday’s issue of The Augusta Chronicle has $2,656.83 in coupons. This includes $1,190.19 at Harbor Freight, $66.43 at Publix, $206.20 at Eyeglass World, $250 at Branum’s and $31.15 in Red Plum.
The SmartSource book has a coupon to save $1 on any eight or more rolls of Scott bath tissue. It expires April 22.
USAGE-BASED CAR INSURANCE
Progressive Insurance has launched a usage-based program called Snapshot in Georgia. The program provides discounts of up to 30 percent for safe, low-mileage drivers based on how, when and how much they drive.
Snapshot is Progressive’s optional Pay As You Drive insurance discount program. Drivers enrolled in the program save an average of $150 per year, according to a release.
After drivers sign up for the program, Progressive will send them a device that plugs into the on-board diagnostic port of their car. The device records and sends driving data to Progressive.
After 30 days, customers will find out whether they’re eligible for a discount, which is up to 30 percent. If so, the discount will be applied.
At the end of the six-month policy term, Progressive will determine the renewal discount and the customer will return the device. Progressive might periodically check in with customers and ask them to plug in the device again, according to a release. For more, visitprogressive.com/snapshot.
