It’s been a few years since Augusta had a “Lilly store,” as in a store that exclusively specialized in merchandise from the Lilly Pulitzer brand.
All Lilly fanatics will be relieved to hear that Palm Village, a Lilly Pulitzer signature store, is coming to town.
Palm Village is actually in several Southern towns, including Asheville, N.C., and Knoxville, Tenn., and will be located in Augusta in the Surrey Center shopping center. They’re currently hiring and are planning to open sometime this spring – hopefully just in time to get your Easter dresses and Masters wardrobes all set up. Find them on Facebook at Facebook.com/PalmVillageAugusta.
WHAT’S TRENDY: It’s a great time of year for sports, but if you’re hard of hearing at all it can be frustrating to watch the game anywhere but in your quiet home. Tunity is an app that scans a TV and finds the audio, syncing it to your phone so you can sneak in headphones and actually enjoy watching March Madness with your friends without sacrificing sound. Find it free in either iOS or Android app stores.
WHAT’S AFFORDABLE. It has been too cold lately, and specifically too cold for my coat wardrobe.
When it’s this frigid, I hate having to wear a parka anytime I leave my house – so I’ve been in the market for a very warm, very good-looking winter coat.
Enter Zara, the brand that knows how to mix style and utility best when it comes to outerwear.
They have a lot of cute parkas, but the one I really have my eye on is a tailored wool coat that buttons right up to the top and has a faux fur collar that keeps your neck and even part of your face warm.
With a 75 percent wool fabric makeup, it won’t let anything in, and at $199, the price point is extremely reasonable. Find it at Zara.com and click on outerwear.
