Shopgirl: UP MOVE puts stylish wristband on trackers

Online retailer BaubleBar has been steadily expanding its business from just jewelry to home goods, and now even venturing into wearable tech. BaubleBar has collaborated with Jawbone to create a wristband that is a little more stylish than the rubber watchband to which most technology companies have defaulted.

The collaboration is being called UP MOVE, and the trackers are pretty enough to wear on their own even without the added functionality benefits. The trackers work like a Jawbone wristband, tracking calorie activity, sleep, foods and even tips on how to improve your health lifestyle.

These come in a variety of metals and colors, and prices range from $45 to $85. Check it out at

WHAT’S TRENDY: Hard to believe, but we’re getting into the holiday season already. Augusta Ballet is holding its annual Ambassador Holiday Soiree and Holiday Tour of Homes on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21, respectively, and these are events you don’t want to miss.

It’s a fantastic way to get in the holiday spirit, get inspired for your own holiday decorating, and also a great way to support a pillar of the Augusta arts community.

Tickets for the soiree are $45, and tickets for the tour are $20. You can find more information at

WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: There are a lot of companies out there who will claim to “clean up” your online presence for a price, but you can do a lot of it yourself for free through Google’s new About Me page.

The About Me feature allows you to systematically go through all of the information settings and privacy options your many Google accounts currently have, from Google+ (remember that?) to YouTube search history (eek!). When I went through it, I was shocked to find out that my cell number was displayed to anyone who was my Google contact, and I swiftly changed that. Check on yours by going to
