If you’re trying harder to hydrate as the temperatures rise, check out Hidrate Smart water bottle designed by college students and interactive with your smartphone. This water bottle measures and tracks how much water you drink, and through an app on your phone lets you know when you’ve hit your goal or when you need to guzzle some before a meal or going to bed. The water bottle is only $45 and has a sleek design that comes in six great colors. Find it athidratespark.com.
WHAT’S TRENDY: Nail colors this summer aren’t the beachy corals and poppy pinks that you may have come to expect, but are more rock ‘n’ roll meets demure nudes. Deborah Lippman has a beautiful metallic navy shade called Rolling in the Deep, and they recommend this shade for shorter nails that want to keep summer looks from looking to saccharine sweet. MAC has a dusty nude called Sweet Potion which is just a step peachier than nude, and would be really nicely offset by a good tan. If you want a little bit more color, check out Yves Saint Laurent’s Peace Green which is an iridescent pearlized pale green that is very reminiscent of undersea tones.
WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: Author and instructor Kevin Sharpe will lead guided meditation in the Morris Museum of Art at 8:45 a.m. each Thursday in May. The free events are a great way to take in the gallery in a more in-depth way than just browsing.
The museum has such beautiful lighting and is such a quiet, peaceful environment that I can imagine even meditation newbies will enjoy some focus time in the halls.
You do need to pre-register, and you can find all of that information at themorris.org.
