Today's Home: Springlakes

Rick and Cindy Crawford’s house is more than just a dwelling; it’s a gathering place for friends and family and a retreat from the rest of the world.

“We just wanted our house to be a home,” said Cindy. “We always wanted it to be comfortable.”

The Crawfords moved into their Springlakes home in 1999 when their three children were in their teens

A game room over the garage with a separate entrance kept the kids’ traffic from the main part of the house. Now the room is a favorite of the four grandchildren.

Their children still come back to the homestead on regular occasions. When extended family is added, it can make for quite a crowd.

“We have 28 for Christ-mas,” Cindy said. “We enjoy entertaining.”

Since her retirement, the Crawfords have spent a lot of time updating their home. Cindy. who has been receiving treatments for cancer, said the redecorating is a “great distraction” for her.

Every room has been touched in some way.

The kitchen has been extensively updated with new tile, fixtures, cabinets and countertops. Bathrooms have received new tile and fixtures, and they’ve carpeted and painted the entire house.

She said they are still working on the game room and office.
