Today's Home: Baldwin Place

The Grovetown home of Demetrice and Davis Jones could be considered the house that love built.

“We prayed over this house. It’s truly a blessing because of the kids we have. We have one biological child and four born from our hearts. This is a place of refuge and a place of peace,” Demetrice said.

Having a large home was important to the couple. Over the years, they’ve been foster parents to several children.

The family has lived in the home since 2009. Davis retired from the Army and is now a government contractor. Demetrice said their four adopted children had never had their own bedrooms, and they want them to have a space they could call their own.

The kitchen is decorated for the holidays in keeping with its year-round rooster theme.

Demetrice said she learned about a Christmas legend not long after deciding to have a rooster tree, which made her happy about doing it.

“There is a legend that a rooster crowed on the night Christ was born,” she said. “I was so excited to have the tree.”
