Ah, fall is in the air, and it looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend. McCorkle Nurseries’ next sale that’s open to the public will be Sept. 23 and 24. If you haven’t been, and especially if you have, mark your calendars. It’s a plant-lover’s died-and-gone-to-heaven kind of event.

Press On for the Holidays continues with the sale of paperwhites and amaryllis bulbs for $20 and $25, respectively. It ends Oct. 26. Delivery will be mid- to late-November. IDENTIFY THE WEED
This week's weed invaded our shady back yard last year and has returned with a vengeance. It got such a strong foothold by hiding in the grass, but it's trying to creep into the flower bed borders.
If you've been playing each week and guessing correctly, give it a try again. Last week's weed was chamberbitter, which many folks call the Mimosa weed because it resembles the tree.
