Augusta's Pendleton King Park to hold volunteer event

The second volunteer event at Pendleton King Park will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Volunteers will gather at Lake Elizabeth to finish clearing the underbrush and undesirable plants from the area, which will
be developed into a wetland.

Volunteers should wear long pants, boots and gloves as the areas are fairly dense. Bring pruners, clippers, weed trimmer with metal blades, axes, and pruning shears.

The Pendleton King Park Foundation is sponsoring the event with partners of the Rotary Club of Augusta, Youth Challenge Academy, the city of Augusta, and the Pendleton King Trust.
