Shopgirl: Take in a show to brighten winter weekend

These next couple of months can get dreary, and what better way to brighten up a Saturday night than the Tony Howard Motown & Elvis Review at the Imperial Theatre?

This Las Vegas-style show on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m., will pay tribute to legends including The Temptations, Elvis Presley, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Natalie Cole plus some. Floor tickets include two free drinks, and prices start at just $10. Go to for more details.

Oh, Google Glass. The gadget that seems ripped-from-television is getting even more impressive with recent reports of prescription lenses and sunglasses options.

According to Google Glass guides published by the company, the frames will be available for Glass Explorers (individuals who are a part of the testing group that is currently using Glass) in the Glass store on Tuesday for $225 plus tax. This is in addition to the $1,500 price tag on the Glass device itself. The frames come in four styles, and you will still need to get lenses put in by an optician.

Think this doesn’t apply to you? Just remember that the more tweaking and improving that goes into Glass, the closer we are to tiny devices that could replace smartphones (and even computers).

What if you could get a box of clothing and accessories to wear, send back when you’re bored with them, and then get more? It’s the Netflix of clothing, and it’s called Le Tote.

I love everything about this company, which uses a mini-version of Pinterest to figure out your personal style and then sends you boxes (or “totes”) with items you can wear and even keep for consignment prices if you love them. You get unlimited boxes starting at $19 per month, and it’s free two-day shipping both ways.

If you want to trim your budget but keep your wardrobe fresh, this could be a great option for you. Find more at
