Shopgirl: Sleepfulness app tracks sleep, monitors resting

Christine Cook, left, and Paula Palaima, both of McCormick, look at herb plants during the Sacred Heart Garden Festival in 2015. The festival returns on April 21.

Sleepfulness is a fantastic free app that is designed by experts to help you fall asleep and have a good night of sleep when counting sheep just isn’t working.

The app works with sounds, guided meditations and tips to help you concentrate on falling asleep. You can star sleep tracks that have worked for you, and there are tailored tracks for napping, going to bed, can’t sleep and daytime sleeping plus more.

Find it for both Android and iPhone in the app stores.

WHAT’S TRENDY: The Sacred Heart Garden Festival is one of the best ways to ring in spring. This year, the festival is going to start with a preview party at 7 p.m. April 21. The party includes dinner, a sneak preview of the festival setup, and an opportunity to buy plants and garden items from the Garden Market. Tickets are available at sacredheartgardenfestival.com.

Tickets for the preview party include admission to the Friday Night in the Garden event, which is full of live music and great drinks in the Sacred Heart garden.

It’s always amazing to me how the festival organizers manage to completely transform Sacred Heart Cultural Center into a garden wonderland for this event. If you haven’t been before, don’t wait any longer!

WHAT’S AFFORDABLE: The Marimekko for Target designer collaboration is out, and the pieces they have for both your closet and your home are to die for.

From deck chairs to a hammock, bikinis to tunics, the line has a ton of different ways to show your love for the signature Marimekko graphic prints. The items range in price from $7.99 for sunscreen to a $499 paddleboard. The line is in stores now and you can find some items online, too.
