Don't ignore potential Muslim threat

Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey said he's reluctant to attach the Muslim religion to the Fort Hood massacre because of possible damage to the military's diversity, which would be in his opinion a greater disaster.

Well, isn't that special? The Army's diversity is more important than the lives of our servicemen? Tell that to the loved ones of those who died.

With this mentality at the top of the command chain, it's no wonder the military failed to investigate the shooter. They had all the outward signs but refused to act because of blind adherence to political correctness. The armed forces are not some social experiment in which we try to fill the ranks with every type soldier whether they are suited for duty or not. Not everyone is soldier material.

How on Earth can our military protect us citizens if it cannot even protect its own soldiers standing on seemingly safe ground inside a secure military base on U.S. soil? They can't unless they fully recognize and take action against known or suspected threats from all sources, including those from within. The army must be proactive in its diligence on all fronts.

Despite the niceties and deafening silence from the national media, the man on the street will tell you we are very much at war with radical disciples of the Muslim faith; it is the common denominator in all our military endeavors at this time. Nearly every U.S. soldier deployed throughout the world is pitted against a follower of the Muslim faith. Muslims kill their own women and children to commit terrorist acts; can we at least cast a jaundiced eye in the direction of our own Muslim service personnel? They're certainly in positions to do great harm if they become so inclined.

The sooner this country, the military and the mainstream media begin to openly declare the obvious Muslim angle to our military engagements, the sooner we will be able to defeat our enemy. You simply must know your enemy in order to defeat him. A continuation of political correctness will only serve to expose more Americans to harm.
