It is very obvious that New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg offered himself for the position of Commerce secretary as a ploy to besmirch the Obama presidency when he quickly withdrew. In all good faith, President Obama had extended his hand to the Republicans and so appointed Sen. Gregg, following through on his pledge of bipartisanship. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!
The Republicans cannot abide an intelligent, articulate, hard-working president at the helm, a sharp contrast to their last standard-bearer. Instead of working with the Democrats in this national crisis created by the Republicans, they have two responses -- obstruct, obstruct, obstruct; lie, lie, lie -- even though these tactics could be detrimental to the American people. Partisanship has taken on a whole new face, and it is not a pretty one.
