Why did Bush, VP skip Augusta?

The citizens of the great state of Georgia have been saddened by the loss of U.S. Rep. Charlie Norwood.

Rep. Norwood was a loyal and staunch supporter of the policies of the Bush administration, but he always put the needs and priorities of his constituents at the forefront of his decisions.

It is, therefore, somewhat puzzling that neither President Bush nor Vice President Dick Cheney set aside their busy schedules to come to Augusta to pay their, and our nation's, respects to this great congressman.

Rep. Norwood, his family and his constituents deserved nothing less. Georgia will miss him.
