Approximately 8:19 p.m., fire crews responded to 1803 Curtis Drive in reference to a blaze that left a home severely damaged.

“No question the damage is extensive,” Lt. Junior Johnson said. “There’s smoke damage throughout the entire house.”

Johnson said no one was inside the residence when the blaze began.

“The house is occupied, but no residents were inside when it started,” he said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
