Flood watch issued for most of region

A flood watch has been issued for most of east central Georgia and western South Carolina Sunday evening by the National Weather Service in Columbia.

Georgia counties included Richmond, Columbia, Burke, McDuffie and Lincoln. South Carolina counties include Aiken, Barnwell, Edgefield and McCormick.

Very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to cause flooding in areas with poor drainage. Motorists are urged not to drive on flooded roads and pedestrians are asked to keep away from storm drains.
