WASHINGTON — A two-star American general was killed in an apparent insider attack Tuesday by a member of the Afghan security forces, U.S. officials said.

A man dressed in an Afghan army uniform opened fire on foreign troops at Camp Qargha, a base west of the capital, Kabul. The attacker wounded approximately 15 people, of which roughly half were Americans, one official said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the information by name ahead of an official announcement.

Among the wounded was a German brigadier general.

Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi, a spokesman for Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry, said a “terrorist in an army uniform” opened fire on both local and international troops. Azimi said the shooter had been killed.

The Qargha shooting comes as so-called “insider attacks” — incidents in which Afghan security turn on their NATO partners — largely dropped last year. In 2013, there were 16 deaths in 10 separate attacks. In 2012, such attacks killed 53 coalition troops in 38 separate attacks.

Leave NOW

We need to get the hell out of that rat hole of a country and let them kill each other as they have been for centuries.
Biggest cowards in the world are ones that will put on the uniform of the friendly and then kill them when trust has been built.

I'm beginning to agree!!

We probably need to leave that Country and let them kill each other off, but unfortunately, the terrorist side usually wins over there!!

But, we send them a stong message that we are leaving, but if you attack ANY American or American Interest, we will come back and absolutely level the entire Country!! Time to stop panzy footing around with these people who just can't find it within themselves to live peacefully!!

Just like in Palastine; there are some good palastinian people, but they REFUSE to stand up against the terrorist group Hamas, and kick them out of their Country!! These people will NOT stand up for themselves, as evident in Iraq; after we kicked their butt, the Iraqi people are just letting terrorists take over again!! Screw them!! Let them fight amoung themselves, but if it spills over to other Countries, wipe them out with airpower!!

We have the ability to destroy them, without a single boot on the ground. We should use this power and ability!!

If this doesn't force the issue of getting out of Afgahistan, I guess this may only put fuel to Obama's plan to put more "TRAINERS" into both Afganistan and Iraq!

It's called PSD

Yeah, there was a Principle Security Detail assigned to protect that General just there is for any high risk individual. I'm 100% sure that the person in charge of that detail in is real deep you know what.

Of course I am sorry about the General, but no more than I would be for any other soldier; to include a Private.

This may shock some of you

but one of the reasons I voted for our President was that he promised to get us out of Afghanistan. He has truly let the country down on this promise. It is time to get the heck out before any more American lives are lost! Of course, we should not have been there in the first place, Mr. Bush.
