ATLANTA -- Two road projects totaling $16 million for the Augusta area got the go-ahead from the Georgia Department of Transportation Monday.

Washington Road will get a passing lane between Leah and Pollards Corner and a new bridge over Keg Creek in Columbia County in a $9.9 million project. The department awarded the contract to E.R. Snell Contractor of Snellville, Ga., for work that is expected to last until the end of 2016.

Six miles of the Bobby Jones Expressway from Mike Padgett Highway to the South Carolina border will be resurfaced by Reeves Construction Co. of Macon. That $6.6 million project is to be completed next July.

From the story:

. . . from Mike Padgett Highway to the South Carolina border. . . .

It is customary to use the term “line” in place of “border.”
