SC Klan passes out candy

  • Follow Metro

SENECA, S.C. — Some residents in northwestern South Carolina say they found bags of candy on their street containing a piece of paper asking them to join the Ku Klux Klan.

Residents in an Oconee County subdivision found the bags Saturday night or Sunday morning.

The paper said “Save Our Land, Join the Klan.” It had a phone number that led to an automated message discussing KKK efforts against illegal immigration.

Robert Jones told WHNS-TV he’s the imperial klaliff of the Loyal White Knights and said the effort was part of a recruiting event they hold three times a year. Jones said the telephone number gets about 20,000 calls a day.

Oconee County resident Bo Morris said he thought it was “unacceptable” to see the bags and fliers in his neighborhood.

Hey, the Klan uses candy to

Hey, the Klan uses candy to advertise and recruit members.

The Democrats use taxpayer money to advertise AND provide food stamps to illegal aliens and recruit new Democrat voters.

At least the Klan is using their own money and not stealing it from me.

I think AFjoe was merely referring to the fact that there is, FOR THE MOMENT, free speech in this country and his "sorry Bo" was saying that if Bo don't like it....sorry...free speech.

Nobody is endorsing the Klan......no more than I would endorse Obama and the Democrats....although I think Obama and the Democrats are a much bigger threat to this country.

PrayN4U, the KKK is protected

PrayN4U, the KKK is protected under the Constitutional right to free speech.

That isn't being "for" them, that's stating a fact.

20,000 calls a day? One call

20,000 calls a day? One call every 4 seconds, all day, every day?

Sure, Bob, sure.

I bet Bob gets pretty good at stuffing candy bags with one hand, while hitting "redial" every 4 seconds with the other.

Free Speech

Yes, I agree they are protected under the law to have free speech. They should also, under the law, be recognized as a TERRORIST GROUP. Their main purpose is to inflict fear and intimidation on anyone not of their beliefs.
Definitions of Terrorism in the U.S. Code

18 U.S.C. § 2331 defines "international terrorism" and "domestic terrorism" for purposes of Chapter 113B of the Code, entitled "Terrorism”:

"International terrorism" means activities with the following three characteristics:
■Involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
■Appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
■Occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S., or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to intimidate or coerce, or the locale in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum.*

"Domestic terrorism" means activities with the following three characteristics:
■Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
■Appear intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination. or kidnapping; and
■Occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S.

18 U.S.C. § 2332b defines the term "federal crime of terrorism" as an offense that:
■Is calculated to influence or affect the conduct of government by intimidation or coercion, or to retaliate against government conduct; and
■Is a violation of one of several listed statutes, including § 930(c) (relating to killing or attempted killing during an attack on a federal facility with a dangerous weapon); and § 1114 (relating to killing or attempted killing of officers and employees of the U.S.).
