FLORENCE, S.C. — The parents of a Florence toddler who died earlier this year after being left in a hot car have been arrested and charged with neglect.

Florence County sheriff’s deputies say 57-year-old Joe Kennedy and 44-year-old Ruthene Kennedy were arrested late Wednesday morning.

Authorities said 13-month-old Jeremiah Kennedy was taken to a hospital by his parents May 25 after being left in a hot vehicle for about an hour and a half.

Coroner Keith von Lutcken said the child had no visible injuries. He said an autopsy indicated the boy died from hyperthermia.

MURDER

It looks like copy-cat murders of children are happening all over the country. If convicted give them the same method of death.

Once again; people like this

Once again; people like this should be left in a hot car!! Having four children myself, and two toddlers; there is NO WAY someone can do this unintentional, unless they are mentally diabled themselves; and in that case, they should NEVER be alone with children to begin with.

Why? Perhaps there is

Why?
Perhaps there is evidence to indicate it was not unintentional. It is way past time for law enforcement to do more when investigating these happenings.

It went up to 93 degrees in Florence that day.

You just have to wonder why they would do something like that, as old as they clearly are.

People like these

don't care. They have no pride, no heart, no sense of responsibility, they think they are owed something in life, they do what they want and laugh about it, they take what's not theirs, they hurt others with no remorse and I believe people like these have gotten away with doing bad things all their lives with no punishment so it just goes on and on. People do things I could never even think of actually happening. The laws are old, they need to change. Bring back hangings, more death penalties and firing squad. Severe and cruel crimes deserve severe and cruel punishment.

They said that they came home

They said that they came home from church and each one thought the other had the baby.

They have several other children.

There is nothing to indicate that they have criminal pasts. The mother owns a hair and nail salon.

sterilize!!!! this should be

sterilize!!!! this should be an automatic part of the sentence for any moron arrested, tried and found guilty for leaving a child in a hot car; clearly these kind do not need to be breeding anymore...clearly they should never have bred in the first place but unfortunately, one's IQ is not a requisite in the ability to procreate.
