FORSYTH, Ga. — Authorities in Monroe County say an escaped inmate was captured after a group of hunters discovered him.

The hunters called authorities, and deputies arrested James Douglas Kelly without incident shortly after 5.p.m. Friday. He was taken to the Department of Corrections State Diagnostic Center in Jackson.

The Telegraph newspaper in Macon reports Kelly escaped Wednesday while on work detail. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the hunters found him under a covered shed at a camp near Tobesofkee Creek eating hotdogs and drinking alcohol.

Kelly was in prison serving a sentence for burglary and obstruction of a law enforcement officer. He was arrested about five miles from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center property he escaped from.

Bet they didn't expect to bag that!

Burglary? You reckon it was hot dogs and alcohol then?

According to some leftists,

According to some leftists, this man has a mental illness and needs help. We are doing an injustice by keeping him locked up; he should be freed to get the mental health treatment that he deserves!! These hunters should be prosecuted for false imprisonment!!

Better Food Coming

I bet he was welcomed back to Jackson with a nice steak dinner, probably did not have any wine to go with it but I sure he was provided a really nice meal.

I'd say

I'd say the boy has a hard time thinking things through. You might be on to something with the mental illness tack there Myfather. Society as it exists these days just overwhelms some people.
