Ronald Skenes, the director of communications and development, said the forum is especially targeted for those who have obtained insurance coverage for the first time through the Affordable Care Act and those who need help navigating changes to the system.
“What we noticed as we worked with some of our patients getting insurance for the first time is they don’t always understand the concept,” Skenes said. “What’s a copay, what’s an out of pocket expense? With all the changes and people coming into the system that’s not familiar, we saw a need for basic information.”
The forum will take place at Heritage Academy, at 333 Greene St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
