The Junior League of Augusta is now accepting applications for teaching grants up to $500.

The Award for Classroom Enrichment grant, or ACE, provides funding for creative teaching projects and is available to teachers in the Central Savannah River area.

Projects should be implemented during the 2014-15 school year. All applications should include a lesson with activities for students in addition to any request for supplies and materials. The grant should not be assigned or used as a college project or an assignment that could result in student credit, a grade, an evaluation or extra credit for a teacher. Failure to comply with the rules could result in denial of eligibility to participate in the program.

To apply, teachers must complete the application and return it by 5 p.m. Aug. 1 to the Junior League office. Applications are available on the Junior League’s Web site at jlaugusta.org.

Applications can also be mailed to Junior League of Augusta, 363 Highland Ave., Surrey Center, 30909 with “Attention: ACE Program.”
