After flooding left multiple Augusta streets closed throughout the day Thursday, Richmond County Emergency Management confirmed Thursday evening all roads have been reopened.

The streets affected were Central Avenue at 15th Street, Laurel Street at Wrightsboro Road, Central Avenue at Emmett Street, 2300 Olive Road, Third Avenue at Laney-Walker Boulevard, the 400 block of Ellis Street, Lombardy Court at Lake Forest Drive, Highway 25 at Harding Road, 1757 and 1763 Brown Road, Victoria Drive, Lumpkin Road at Peach Orchard Road and Coleman Avenue at Virginia Avenue.

“Most of the streets affected are in very low-lying areas,” Emergency Management director Mie Lucas said. “But once the rained stopped those roads cleared up pretty quickly.”
