Augusta’s own Lady Antebellum released on Monday the lead single, Bartender, from its fifth studio album, according to the group’s Web site.

The song can be heard now on radio and will be available for purchase at digital retailers on May 20. Written by group members Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott, along with co-writer Rodney Clawson, it is a “female anthem centered around washing an ex’s memory away with whiskey on a girl’s night out,” according to the site.

“I love this song because there’s something empowering about not going for the rebound or just moping around over a guy,” Scott said. “There are those times in your life when you need to feel sorry for yourself and be sad, but this song is all about hitting the dance floor with your girlfriends and just forgetting him.”

The band will perform its new single on May 23 when it kicks off Good Morning America’s summer concert series in Central Park.

Country Music Makes You a Better Person

I'm looking forward to hearing it. I'm a better man when I'm listening to country music and drinking beer.
