GREENVILLE, S.C. — Authorities have identified a Williamston woman whose body was found inside a burning car in the Honea Path area.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans said Tuesday he had ruled the death of 20-year-old Joseline Kassandra Gamarro Aragon a homicide.

Evans says DNA comparison was used to identify Aragon’s body after it was found inside the car on April 1.

Evans hasn’t yet said how Aragon died but says she was dead before the fire started. Evans says Aragon was killed sometime on March 31 or April 1.

Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Smith says the car Aragon was found in belonged to her. She had not been reported missing, and authorities are still investigating.
