Ga. clerk's mouth, eyes taped before slaying

DALTON, Ga. — A man who found a northwest Georgia convenience store clerk dead on the floor of his store and called 911 says the worker’s mouth and eyes had been duct-taped shut.

Mark Rogers said in an interview with The Daily Citizen of Dalton that change was scattered behind the cash register, leading him to tell the 911 operator that he thought there had been a robbery.

A suspect, 21-year-old Skyy Raven Marie Mims of Detroit, is being held on a murder charge in the Sunday slaying of 37-year-old store clerk Dahyabhai Chaudhari.

Whitfield County sheriff’s officials have released few details about how the store clerk was killed.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the killing was captured on a store surveillance camera.
