DENVER — Synthetic marijuana is believed to have sickened 221 people in Colorado during an outbreak earlier this year.

A Centers for Disease Control report released Thursday says health officials dug deeper into 127 cases reported in the Denver area and Colorado Springs from mid-August to mid-September. Of those, 10 were admitted into intensive care but no deaths were reported. Most of the patients — overwhelmingly male with a median age of 26 — were treated and released.

The report says the Colorado health and law enforcement officials are looking into whether one of two new variants of synthetic marijuana contributed to the illnesses. One was linked to a similar outbreak in Georgia in August.

Synthetic marijuana is illegal in Colorado. Four stores identified by those who became sick have been closed.

Colorado is one of a few States that let pot head toke up without fear of arrest, so how is legalized pot working out for them? Do not let that happen here. Vote!

@oldredneck

That was synthetic marijuana. If anything this further proves why the "real" stuff was made legal in the first place.

Drug Addicts

Looks like a couple of addicts posted here and proved my point. Drug addicts will spend more than they have to get high. This means they will steal, do without and what ever is needed to get high. Since "real" pot is more expensive than synthetic that is what they will choose. If real pot is provided by the goverment, not off the table with obama care, they will stay high on our dime. I pity drug addicts and wish them a recovery, making drugs available to them will not help them. Put all drug dealers in jail for life and you stop the supply chain. Make the convicted dealers work at hard labor to pay thier way in prison. Every crime you read about in the news today has drugs as a common thread. This affects everyone, addict or sober.
