MARIETTA, Ga. — Police are investigating the death of a man who was found face-down in a creek northwest of Atlanta.

Marietta police say the man, who is believed to be homeless, was found Tuesday in Rottonwood Creek, under a Delk Road bridge.

Marietta police Officer David Baldwin says authorities received a 911 call around 10:30 a.m. about a body floating in the creek.

Baldwin tells The Marietta Daily Journal that the suspected cause of death is drowning, but the medical examiner will determine the official cause of death and whether foul play was involved.
