A winter weather advisory will be in effect for nine counties in north Georgia from 7 p.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The advisory includes the cities of Blairsville, Blue Ridge, Chatsworth, Cleveland, Dahlonega, Dawsonville and Jasper.

The National Weather Service says residents should be prepared for a light glaze of ice on elevated surfaces such as bridges, overpasses, trees and wires.

The ice threat is part of a storm system blamed for at least eight deaths in the West. It was expected to bring freezing rain and sleet to parts of Texas as it continued making its way through the Southwest before moving east before of Thanksgiving.

AND all that money spendin

AND all that money spendin goin down with the sales. I suppose it's good and bad depending on who's asked. Typically NE Ga folks know how to drive in it so I suspect outbound folks will be more affected.
