An I-20 guardrail jammed through the door of a red Ford Mustang in Warren County Saturday morning

Warren County Coroner Paul Lowe identified the driver as 22-year-old Jacob Edward Spradley of Milan, Ga. His passenger was 41-year-old James Stanley Joyner  Jr. of Brunswick. Both men died of blunt force trauma and were pronounced at the scene by Lowe. Authorities say their Ford Mustang heading west on the interstate left the roadway, crashed into an embankment, then hit the guardrail, which went through the car.

I-20 westbound around the accident was down to one lane as the Georgia State Patrol investigated.

Authorities have said excessive speed and light rain will most likely be factors in the crash.
