NEWNAN, Ga. — Emergency officials say three people were hurt when a car crashed into the front of a Coweta County Waffle House.

Battalion Chief Stephen Brown with the Newnan fire department tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the driver and two people inside the restaurant were taken to a hospital after the Friday night wreck. He says none of them were seriously injured.

Investigators could not immediately determine what caused the driver to hit the building. The names of the driver and the two other people brought to a hospital were not immediately released.

Brown says the 24-hour restaurant sustained significant structural damage and will remain closed until the city’s building inspectors can look at it.
