MURDER

It looks like the daily shootings are getting a little more violent. Sad for family of the man.

How 2013 stacks up against other years.

I checked the Chronicle's Homicide Database back to 2006.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have had to UPDATE this comment to reflect the dates that the AC database covers up to July 24th, not Aug. 24. As it stands today the 2013 database number is at least off by 1 and could be more once the new data is posted.

My apologies. But facts are important.

2013 = 13 plus 1 makes 14

2012 = 22
2011 = 19
2010 = 23
2009 = 18
2008 = 19
2007 = 18
2006 = 14
2005 = 07*

Full Years
2013 = 14* *NOTE: 2013 is a up to July 24, 2013
2012 = 32
2011 = 32
2010 = 37
2009 = 26
2008 = 27
2007 = 29
2006 = 17
2005 = 16*

(NOTE: The Low 2005 numbers are suspect, because I personally"feel" the 2005 database info may be incomplete.)

Normal

Yeah, but as Countyman tells us, 30 homicides a year (give or take a few) is a low homicide rate for a county our size.

Plus

we have a Denny's, Target, 5 Guys, Cabela's and bunches of other stuff coming so, don't bother him with, you know, some murders or whatever! It's all good. Unless you are the murderee (is that a word?).
