According to a statement released by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Jon Stevens was found about 1:30 a.m. by the dive team.

Deputies had been called to 4601 Hunters Mill Court about 9:30 p.m. where Jeanette Stevens told them her son had been visiting friends but had not been seen for several hours.

A lookout was broadcast and a number of Richmond County road deputies began a search of the area. A dive team brought in to search a pool at the residence recovered the body.

Sad!

I had a friend lose their child the same way years ago in Aiken. This is heartbreaking each time. My prayers go out to this little child's family.

Rest his little soul

Rest his little soul in abundant peace and I pray God took him quickly with little to no suffering and prayers to all the families and friends and all those who feel the pain as we all suffer in the tragedy of a child.
