Richmond County deputies are on the scene of multiple accidents with injuries at Peach Orchard Road near Boykin Road.

Dispatch said the southbound lanes are blocked while deputies clear the scene. Initial reports indicated there were three separate crashes.

Meanwhile the rainy morning has seen at least three vehicle accidents in Aiken County that might hinder morning commuters.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol Web site, one accident was reported on Silver Bluff Road near U.S. 278 shortly after 6 a.m.  That accident had cleared.

A second accident was reported at Herndon Dairy Road off Pine Log Road 30 minutes later.  It has cleared, as well as a third reported on U.S. 278 about 7:30 a.m.

A fourth accident was reported about 8 a.m. at Sudlow Lake Road at Ascauga Lake Road.

There were no injuries reported.

The rain is expected to end later today.

Who writes this stuff? "State

Who writes this stuff? "State patrolmen were at the scenes, but there were no injuries reported." This sentence makes no sense. They are two separate sentences. State patrol is called in on almost every accident but have nothing to do with whether or not injuries are reported. At some point our local newspapers need to hire editors or at least have their own writers read the story themselves before submitting.
Of course, there is nothing truly stated about any of these accident other than they existed and the times and locations. This is pretty sad reporting.

Slow Down!!

Some people simply refuse to drive according to the conditions of the road. You cannot always drive the posted speed limit on some wet roads with a heavy or moderate rain falling. Slow down and get to your destination without having an accident.

Absolute idiots on the road

Absolute idiots on the road this morning. Upon arrival at work, I took a deep breath and said a prayer of thanks. It's amazing to me that people place so little value on their life and the the lives of other drivers on the highways.
