A 60-year-old Warrenville man died Thursday night in a traffic accident on Highway 19 North.

According to a news release from Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton, Benjamin Riley was leaving the Country Store at the intersection of Highway 191 and Highway 19 North about 6 p.m. when his vehicle was struck by a southbound semi truck driven by William Peterson, of Johnston, S.C.,

Riley was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Carlton said. The extent of  Peterson's injuries, if any, were not made public.

This is the 21st traffic fatality in Aiken County in 2012, the coroner said, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
