Saginaw Valley State and its band of boisterous fans will enjoy the South for two more days.

The Michigan school scored the first three goals and held on for a 3-1 win over Simon Fraser in the Division II men’s semifinals at Blanchard Woods Park.

Zach Walega, Lachlan Savage and Zach Myers all scored goals to lead the Cardinals (18-2-4), who advance to play Lynn at noon Saturday in the national championship.

Carlo Basso scored the lone goal for Simon Fraser (19-2-1), the first – and only – Canadian school to qualify for an NCAA Final Four.
