Crews work to finish cleaning up in the median of Palmetto Parkway after reopening the lanes at 5 p.m. on Sunday. All lanes of the Palmetto Parkway near Belvedere-Clearwater Road were closed after a tanker flipped and spilled bleach early Sunday.

A tanker truck flipped around 2 a.m. Sunday, North Augusta Public Safety Sgt. Tim Thornton said.

The spill was quickly contained and no evacuation was necessary in the area. The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The highway, also known as Interstate 520, remained closed until another truck came to pick up the product and transfer it.
