The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Georgia Bureau of Investigation forensic laboratory is working to identify the remains found over the weekend. Rabun County Sheriff Frank Andrews said Monday that authorities suspect they belong to Richard Arnold Masters of Kennesaw.
Masters hasn’t been seen since July 19. Relatives say he enjoyed hiking in the Tallulah Falls area of Rabun County and deputies found Masters’ Jeep Cherokee in the county soon after he was reported missing.
The sheriff says a resident walking near Bartram Trail found the remains Saturday and called authorities.
